Matthew (Matt) Connors serves as Deputy University Counsel for Health Affairs and Senior Assistant Attorney General at the University of Virginia. As Deputy University Counsel for Health Affairs, Mr. Connors is responsible for advising UVA Health, including UVA Medical Center and School of Medicine and School of Nursing, on a broad range of legal matters, including health care law and regulatory compliance, corporate transactions (such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and similar transactions), health care privacy law, contract negotiation, corporate governance and nonprofit issues.
Prior to joining the Office of University Counsel, Mr. Connors served in various in-house counsel roles at two national health care providers. Mr. Connors began his legal career in private practice at a health care focused law firm, representing providers and suppliers across the health care spectrum.
Mr. Connors received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Richmond and his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law.
