Bio
Douglas Shontz serves as Associate University Counsel and Assistant Attorney General at the University of Virginia. He works on research administration, including sponsored research and related agreements, compliance, Institutional Review Board (IRB) matters, and research integrity, as well as procurement and contracting. Before joining UVA, Douglas worked for the University of Illinois, RAND Corporation, and federal government, performing work in areas of intellectual property, research, contracting, and public records (FOIA). He holds a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and a B.S.E. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.
