Bio

Richard Naddeo currently serves as Associate University Counsel and Senior Assistant Attorney General at the University of Virginia. He received a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also holds a Certificate of Study in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Naddeo’s areas of practice on behalf of the University of Virginia include real estate, business transactions, finance, gifts, and trusts and estates. Before joining the University Counsel’s Office in 2020, Mr. Naddeo held positions as an Associate General Counsel at the City University of New York (2011-2020), as Counsel to the New York City Economic Development Corporation (2006-2011), and as an Associate Attorney at the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP (2002-2006).
